Common problems and fixes
Most fields are empty.
The file was written by a library rather than Excel, and libraries usually write minimal metadata. That is expected, not an error.
The modified date does not match the file system.
Document metadata records the last save by an application; the file system records the last write. Copying a file updates one but not the other.
