Split Excel File

Break a large workbook into manageable pieces.

Split by sheet, by the value in a column, or by a fixed number of rows. Each piece keeps the header row and the original formatting, and everything downloads as a single zip with predictable file names.

Common problems and fixes

Hundreds of tiny files were produced.

The split column has high cardinality. Pick a coarser column, or use the row-count mode with a larger chunk size.

The zip is missing some groups.

Groups with a blank key are skipped by default. Enable “Include blank group” to get them as a file named _blank.
